About Buscogast Injection 1 ml

Buscogast Injection 1 ml is used to relieve spasms of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract and urogenital tract  (stomach, intestines, biliary tract, pancreas, and urinary tract). It may also be used for diagnostic and therapeutic medical procedures where spasms might be a problem, such as barium enema or gastroduodenal endoscopy, and to produce smooth muscle relaxation prior to radiological procedures like pyelography.

Buscogast Injection 1 ml contains ‘Hyoscine butylbromide’ that stops smooth muscle contractions by relaxing the muscles in the stomach, intestine, and bladder. Thereby providing relief from cramps, discomfort, and pain.

In some cases, Buscogast Injection 1 ml may cause side effects such as blurred vision, increased heart rate, dry mouth, dizziness, and constipation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Buscogast Injection 1 ml is not recommended for use in pregnancy and breastfeeding. If you are pregnant, suspecting pregnancy or breastfeeding, inform your doctor before receiving this injection. Buscogast Injection 1 ml may cause blurred vision and dizziness, so avoid driving vehicles or operating machinery unless you are alert. Buscogast Injection 1 ml is not recommended for children. Additionally, it may be used for diagnostic and therapeutic medical procedures where spasms may be an issue, such as barium enema (an x-ray exam used to detect changes or abnormalities in the colon) or gastroduodenal endoscopy, as well as to induce smooth muscle relaxation prior to radiological procedures like pyelography (x-ray exam to detect abnormalities in the urinary tract). Buscogast Injection 1 ml works by relaxing the muscles in the stomach, intestine, and bladder. Drug Warnings

Drug-Drug Interactions: Buscogast Injection 1 ml may interact with tricyclic antidepressants (doxepin, mirtazapine), antihistamines, medicines used to treat mental illness (fluphenazine, haloperidol), anti-arrhythmic agents (quinidine, disopyramide), anti-Parkinson agent (amantadine), bronchodilator (tiotropium, ipratropium), prokinetic agent (metoclopramide).
