About Betamil-M Cream

Betamil-M Cream is used to reduce swelling/inflammation, itching, and redness caused by certain skin infections usually caused by fungus. Fungal infection is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the tissue and causes infection. Fungal infections may be contagious (spread from one person to another).

Betamil-M Cream is a combination of two drugs, namely Betamethasone and Miconazole. Betamethasone belongs to the class of corticosteroids that work by inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. Miconazole belongs to the class of antifungals that works by damaging the fungal cell membranes and killing fungi.

Betamil-M Cream is for external use only. Use Betamil-M Cream as advised by your doctor. Betamil-M Cream may cause side effects such as skin irritation, burning, redness or itching at the application site, rash and skin peeling. Most of these side effects of Betamil-M Cream do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects worsen or persist, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Betamethasone, Miconazole or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, you are advised to consult a doctor before using Betamil-M Cream. Do not use Betamil-M Cream in more than prescribed doses or for a prolonged time as it may cause adverse effects. Betamil-M Cream should not be used under plasters or bandages. Do not smoke or go near naked flames, as it may increase the risk of severe burns. Do not swallow Betamil-M Cream. In case of accidental swallowing, consult a doctor immediately.

Uses of Betamil-M Cream

Treatment of skin infections.

Medicinal Benefits

Betamil-M Cream belongs to the dermatological combination medicine class containing Betamethasone and Miconazole. It helps to reduce swelling, itching, and redness caused by certain skin infections, usually caused by fungus. Betamethasone acts inside skin cells and inhibits the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. Miconazole works by damaging the fungal cell membranes, which are essential for their survival as they prevent the entry of unwanted substances into the cells and stop cell leakage. Thus, it kills fungi.

In case of accidental contact with these areas, rinse with water thoroughly. Wash your hands before and after using it if hands are not the affected area to prevent the spread of infection.
