Axonrich Tablet is indicated for the management of neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain is a chronic progressive nerve disease that causes nerve pain due to nerve damage or a malfunctioning nervous system. Symptoms of neuropathic pain include burning or shooting pain followed by tingling and numbness (loss of sensation). Neuropathic pain can be caused due to amputation of limbs, diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage due to excess blood sugar level), excessive alcohol intake (alcoholism), and cancer treatment via chemotherapy.

Axonrich Tablet is a combination of five drugs: Pregabalin, Mecobalamin, Alpha-lipoic acid, Pyridoxine-5-phosphate, and Calcium-L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate. Pregabalin affects the chemicals in the brain that send pain signals to the nervous system, thereby relieving nerve pain. Mecobalamin and Pyridoxine-5-phosphate help in the rejuvenation and protection of damaged nerve cells by producing a substance called myelin. Alpha-lipoic acid helps in providing a protective effect on the nerve tissues and the brain. Calcium-L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate helps in delivering essential nutrients to the nerves. Together, Axonrich Tablet provides relief from neuropathic pain.

Use Axonrich Tablet as suggested by your doctor. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects, such as dizziness, sleepiness, tiredness, nausea, and vomiting. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Consult your doctor before starting Axonrich Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Axonrich Tablet may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Axonrich Tablet as it could lead to increased dizziness and sleepiness. Axonrich Tablet is not recommended for children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medicines, including vitamins and herbal supplements.

Do not take Axonrich Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor before taking Axonrich Tablet if you have/had heart problems or bipolar syndrome. Please do not stop taking Axonrich Tablet without consulting your doctor as it could cause withdrawal symptoms. Do not take Axonrich Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. Axonrich Tablet may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Axonrich Tablet as it could lead to increased dizziness and sleepiness. Axonrich Tablet is not recommended for children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Consult your doctor immediately if you experience suicidal tendencies.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Axonrich Tablet may have interaction with antidepressants (amitriptyline), pain killer (codeine, tramadol), anti-convulsant (gabapentin), anti-anxiety (diazepam), anti-diabetic (metformin), immunosuppressant (methotrexate), anti-rheumatoid (sulfasalazine), antibiotic (chloramphenicol), anti-cancer (altretamine), and anti-Parkinson’s (levodopa).

Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking Axonrich Tablet as it might cause increased dizziness and sleepiness.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Axonrich Tablet may have interactions with disease conditions such as angioedema, creatine kinase elevations, peripheral oedema, malabsorption, and anaemia.

• Try taking a warm bath as it can be soothing.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
• Meditation and yoga can help lower stress, decrease pain sensitivity, and improves coping skills.
• Acupuncture can be helpful by stimulating pressure points.
• Using essential oils for massages can help increase circulation.
• Include cayenne pepper in your diet as it can help in lowering neuropathic pain.

Neuropathic pain: It is a nervous disorder that occurs due to nerve damage caused by chronic progressive nerve disease, limb amputation, diabetes, or due to infection or injury. The pain could be intermittent or continuous, felt as a prickling, stabbing, tingling, or burning sensation. A feeling of numbness and loss of senses is also common with neuropathic pain. Usually, the body sends the pain signals when there is an injury, but with neuropathic pain, the pain that is not triggered by an injury, the body sends the pain signals unpromptedly. Symptoms include spontaneous, un-triggered pain, unpleasant feeling, shooting, burning, or stabbing pain, difficulty resting or sleeping, and evoked pain (pain caused by events that are usually not painful).
