Aristogyl Plus Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat diarrhoea. Diarrhoea is a condition where there is a frequent need to empty the bowels. It is characterised by loose and watery stools.

Aristogyl Plus Tablet contains Metronidazole, Diloxanide, and Simethicone. Metronidazole and Diloxanide kill the bacteria and infection-causing micro-organisms. Simethicone prevents the accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive tract. Together, Aristogyl Plus Tablet helps treat diarrhoea.

In some cases, Aristogyl Plus Tablet may cause side effects such as nausea, dry mouth, headache, and flatulence. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

The detailed uses of Aristogyl Plus Tablet are as follows:<br/>• Amoebic and bacterial diarrhoea: Aristogyl Plus Tablet helps treat intestinal infections such as amoebiasis and giardiasis by eliminating protozoa and bacteria responsible for the symptoms.<br/>• Gastrointestinal discomfort relief: Aristogyl Plus Tablet provides relief from abdominal bloating, cramps, and gas by breaking up gas bubbles in the digestive tract.<br/>• Mixed infection management: Aristogyl Plus Tablet is especially beneficial in managing diarrhoea with mixed infections or when digestive symptoms are accompanied by excess gas and discomfort.<br/>

Storage

• Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.

• Non cold chain - To be stored in cool places at 10ºC to 25ºC or below 30ºC.

What if I have taken an overdose of Aristogyl Plus Tablet

Never take more than the prescribed dose. If you suspect that you or someone else might have taken an overdose of Aristogyl Plus Tablet , go to the accident and emergency department of your local hospital at once. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.

Drug Warnings

Do not take Aristogyl Plus Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components. Inform the doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, heart rhythm disorder, stomach or intestinal disease, blood problems, fungal/yeast infections, or thyroid problems. Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Let the doctor know if you take other medicines, including supplements and herbal products.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
  • Include bland foods such as bananas, rice, apples, cream of wheat, soda crackers, farina, applesauce, and toast to avoid the aggravation of the digestive system.
  • Avoid eating foods such as milk, dairy products, spicy foods, processed foods, pork, veal, sardines, raw vegetables, rhubarb, onions, corn, citrus fruits, alcohol, pineapples, cherries, seeded berries, grapes, caffeinated and carbonated drinks. 
  • Eat fibre-rich food such as whole grains, lentils, beans, broccoli, and peas.
  • Wash your hands properly after using the toilet to prevent infections.
  • Clean the toilets regularly with a disinfectant.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly before eating, while preparing or serving.
