About Apriset Iv Inj

Apriset Iv Inj belongs to a class of drugs called anti-emetics. It is used in combination with other medicines to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy (anti-cancer medicines) in patients six months of age and above. Nausea is a feeling of uneasiness in the stomach that often comes before vomiting. On the other hand, vomiting is the forcible voluntary or involuntary emptying of stomach contents through the mouth.

Apriset Iv Inj contains Aprepitant, a neurokinin 1 (NK1) receptor antagonist which works by blocking neurokinin-1 receptors (causes the feeling of sickness) present in the vomiting centre in the brain. Thus, it helps prevent nausea and vomiting.

Apriset Iv Inj will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. In some cases, Apriset Iv Inj may cause common side effects such as weakness, tiredness, diarrhoea, urinary tract infection, pain in arms and legs, or indigestion. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, consult your doctor immediately if the side effects persist or worsen.

If you are allergic to Apriset Iv Inj or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Apriset Iv Inj is not recommended for children below six months of age. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Apriset Iv Inj. Drive only if you are alert after receiving Apriset Iv Inj. If you are taking other prescription or non-prescription medicines, inform your doctor before taking Apriset Iv Inj.
