About Alatro Tablet

Alatro Tablet belongs to the class of 'anti-asthmatic agents', primarily used to treat mild to moderate bronchial asthma. Asthma is a breathing problem in which airways narrow, swell and produce extra mucus, leading to difficulty breathing. Symptoms of asthma include coughing, wheezing and chest tightness.

Alatro Tablet contains Seratrodast that belongs to the class of 'thromboxane receptor antagonists'. Thromboxane is a substance made by platelets that causes blood clotting and constriction of blood vessels (vasoconstriction). It is produced in the lungs of people with asthma and when it signals through thromboxane receptor, it leads to bronchoconstriction (constriction of airways) and vasoconstriction. Alatro Tablet inhibits the action of thromboxane receptor and treats asthma symptoms.

Your doctor will advise the dose and duration of the course based on the severity of your asthma. The common side effects of Alatro Tablet include rash, itching of the skin, nausea, abdominal pain, headache, irregular heartbeat, constipation, dry mouth, dizziness, diarrhoea and drowsiness. Most of these side effects of Alatro Tablet do not occur in every patient using this medicine. If they occur, they gradually resolve during the treatment. However, if the side effects are persistent, please reach out to your doctor.

Please inform your doctor in advance if you have heart, liver, kidney and lung diseases before taking Alatro Tablet . It is advised to check with your doctor if you are pregnant, currently breastfeeding before starting Alatro Tablet . If you are taking any other prescribed or non-prescribed medicines, please tell your doctor before starting Alatro Tablet . Alatro Tablet may cause blurred vision, drowsiness or dizziness in some patients, hence do not drive or operate machinery if you are not mentally alert. Alatro Tablet is not recommended in patients below 18 years of age.
