Aerocort Inhaler is used to treat asthma. Asthma is a respiratory condition caused by hypersensitive airways, which become inflamed, swollen and filled with mucous, making breathing difficult. Symptoms include shortness of breath, wheezing, and cough.
Aerocort Inhaler contains Beclomethasone (corticosteroids) and Levosalbutamol (bronchodilators). Levosalbutamol works by relaxing muscles and widening the airways of the lungs. Beclomethasone works by preventing the release of certain chemicals in the body that cause inflammatory reactions. Thereby, Aerocort Inhaler makes breathing easier.
Use Aerocort Inhaler as prescribed. In some cases, Aerocort Inhaler may cause certain common side effects such as thrush, hoarseness of voice and headache. Most of these side effects do not require any acute medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen.
Inform the doctor if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding. Aerocort Inhaler is not recommended for children below 4 years. Consult your doctor before taking alcohol with Aerocort Inhaler as there may be an interaction. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medications to rule out any interactions.
