About Aerocort Rotacaps

Aerocort Rotacaps is used to treat asthma. Asthma is a respiratory condition caused by hypersensitive airways, which become inflamed, swollen and filled with mucous, making breathing difficult. Symptoms include shortness of breath, wheezing, and cough.

Aerocort Rotacaps contains Beclomethasone (corticosteroids) and Levosalbutamol (bronchodilators). Levosalbutamol works by relaxing muscles and widening the airways of the lungs. Beclomethasone works by preventing the release of certain chemicals in the body that cause inflammatory reactions. Thereby, Aerocort Rotacaps makes breathing easier.

Use Aerocort Rotacaps as prescribed. In some cases, Aerocort Rotacaps may cause certain common side effects such as thrush, hoarseness of voice and headache. Most of these side effects do not require any acute medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen.

Inform the doctor if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding. Aerocort Rotacaps is not recommended for children below 4 years. Consult your doctor before taking alcohol with Aerocort Rotacaps as there may be an interaction. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medications to rule out any interactions.

Uses of Aerocort Rotacaps

Treatment of Asthma

Medicinal Benefits

Aerocort Rotacaps is a combination of respiratory medicine containing Beclomethasone and Levosalbutamol. It is used primarily to treat asthma. Beclomethasone is a steroid that works by inhibiting and suppressing inflammatory mediators and inflammatory cells. Levosalbutamol is a short-acting beta-agonist, which stimulates the smooth muscle cells of the airways to relax, thereby easing the free flow of air. Thus, Aerocort Rotacaps is a potent antidote for breathing problems related to asthma as well as in treating the inflammation and swelling that constitutes asthma.
