Adzolex Oral Solution is used for the short-term relief of occasional constipation in children. Constipation refers to infrequent bowel movements in which the stools are often dry, painful and hard to pass. Symptoms include incomplete bowel movements and dry/hard stools, which are difficult to pass.
Adzolex Oral Solution contains sodium picosulfate, which stimulates mucosa in the large intestine and encourages the muscles in the bowel to move waste easily; this increases bowel motility. Thereby, Adzolex Oral Solution helps treat constipation.
In some cases, Adzolex Oral Solution may cause side effects, such as diarrhoea and abdominal pain/cramps. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, consult the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.
Let the doctor know if the child is allergic to any of the components in Adzolex Oral Solution. Keep the doctor informed about the child’s health condition and medications to rule out any side effects/interactions.
