About Vofen Gel

Vofen Gel is used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, strain, stiff neck, dislocations, joint pain, lumbago (lower back pain), tendinitis (inflammation of the tendon), and tenosynovitis (inflammation of tendon on the thumb side of the wrist).

Vofen Gel contains aceclofenac, which works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical, prostaglandin. By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, fewer prostaglandins are produced; this helps in reducing mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.

You are advised to use Vofen Gel for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, Vofen Gel may cause side effects such as application site reactions like itching, irritation, redness, and burning sensation. You are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Do not use Vofen Gel if you are allergic to any of its components. Vofen Gel is for external use only. Avoid contact of Vofen Gel with eyes, nose or mouth; if contact occurs, rinse with water thoroughly. Avoid using Vofen Gel on open wounds and irritated skin. Do not cover the treated skin with a bandage unless advised by the doctor. Consult a doctor before using Vofen Gel if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Vofen Gel is not recommended for use in children.

Vofen Gel works by blocking the effect of chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Thereby, Vofen Gel helps in providing relief from pain.
Vofen Gel is used to reduce and relieve pain and inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis. It is an auto-immune disease (the body's immune system attacks its tissue) which leads to joint pain and damage.
Avoid concomitant use of Vofen Gel with other topical products such as cosmetics, sunscreens, lotions, moisturizers, insect repellent creams, and other gels.
Do not apply external heat or cover the treated skin with dressings after applying Vofen Gel. Covering the skin or applying heat might increase the amount of the drug absorbed into the skin leading to unpleasant side effects.
Do not apply Vofen Gel on wounds, skin injuries, irritated skin, skin abrasions, rashes, and infections. Apply Vofen Gel on healthy skin only.
