Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid

About Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid

Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid belongs to the class of medications called ‘ophthalmologic agents’ used in the treatment of dry eyes. Dry eye is a condition in which there is decreased production of tears by lachrymal glands (tear glands) due to vitamin A deficiency, allergic eye diseases or eye infections. It causes damage to the outer coverings (cornea and conjunctiva) of the eye and increases the risk of inflammation or infections.

Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid is a combination of two medicines, Panthenol and Hyaluronic acid. Panthenol is a component of the B complex vitamins. Panthenol is a chemical substance derived from Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5). It has regenerative and anti-inflammatory properties and helps to relieve symptoms of dry eye and further damage to the eye. Hyaluronic acid is a complex polysaccharide or sugar naturally found in the eye. It is used as a component in eye drops to lubricate eyes and relieve dry eye symptoms.

Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid is for external use only. You should take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. The common side-effects of Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid are application site reactions such as burning/stinging sensation or redness in the eye, increased eye sensitivity to the light, stickiness of eyelashes, swelling of eyelids, blurred vision and watery eyes. These side-effects are usually mild and temporary. Consult your doctor if these side-effects persist.

Do not take Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid if you are allergic to hyaluronic acid or any other contents present in it. Before taking Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid, inform your doctor if you have glaucoma (a condition with increased pressure in the eye), ulcers in the eye, undergone or are scheduled for eye surgery or any other eye problems. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before starting Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid.

FAQs

Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid is used in the treatment of dry eyes.

Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid is a combination of two medicines: Panthenol and Hyaluronic acid. Panthenol (derivative of vitamin B5) has antiinflammatory properties and hyaluronic acid (a complex sugar) helps to hold-on tears to moisten and lubricate the eyes. Together, Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid can reduce the symptoms of dry eyes.

If you use other eye ointments/drops along with Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid, it is advised to maintain a gap of at least 5-10 minutes after each administration. Also, use eye drops before applying any eye ointment.

Dry eyes may cause blurred vision due to a decrease in tear production in the eye. However, it doesn't cause permanent disturbances to your vision. The vision improves with the use of eye drops or when your eye condition improves.

Do not wear contact lenses while using Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid and discard the eye drops after completing the course of therapy or within 1 month after opening the bottle. Panthenol+hyaluronic Acid may cause sensitivity to light, so wear sunglasses while going outside during the day time.
