FAQs

Eptacog Alfa is used to treat bleeding disorders.

Eptacog Alfa works by making the blood clot at the site of bleeding when the body’s own clotting factors are not working.

Do not use Eptacog Alfa at the same time as prothrombin complex concentrates or rFXIII (recombinant factor XIII). Talk to your doctor before using Eptacog Alfa if you also use Factor VIII or IX products.

Eptacog Alfa may cause blood clots at the site of injection or in the blood vessels of the kidney, liver, lungs or limbs. Consult your doctor if you experience any signs of a blood clot, such as red and painful swelling in the leg, abdominal pain, and difficulty breathing.

In case of mild or moderate bleeding episodes, Eptacog Alfa may be prescribed for use at home if required. Do not stop using Eptacog Alfa or adjust the dose without checking with your doctor. You should not continue home treatment for longer than 24 hours without consulting your doctor. Contact your doctor immediately if the bleeding is not controlled within 24 hours.
