Desflurane belongs to the group of medicines called halogenated hydrocarbons indicated as an inhalation agent for the induction and/or maintenance of anaesthesia. It is used to put you to sleep during a procedure/surgery.
Desflurane contains Desflurane, which causes you to fall into a deep, painless sleep. It also helps maintain a deep, painless sleep.
In some cases, Desflurane may cause nausea, vomiting, headache, and high blood pressure. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not drive or operate machinery for at least 24 hours after receiving Desflurane. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medications to rule out any side effects/interactions.

Drug Warnings
Let the doctor know if you are allergic to any of the components in Desflurane. Inform the doctor if you have/had increased pressure in the brain, bronchoconstriction, coronary artery disease, muscle or heart problems, high/low blood pressure, liver cirrhosis, hepatitis, liver or kidney disease, asthma, or malignant hyperthermia (a severe reaction to certain drugs used for anaesthesia). Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Let your doctor know if you are taking any prescription/non-prescription medicines or herbal supplements.
Drug Interactions
Drug-Drug Interactions: Inform the doctor if you are taking muscle relaxants (suxamethonium, pancuronium, atracurium, vecuronium), opioids (fentanyl, morphine, remifentanil), or benzodiazepines (midazolam, diazepam, nitrazepam).

Pregnancy

Inform your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication if you are expecting a child, believe you may be pregnant, or intend to become pregnant. Adequate data regarding Desflurane use in women who are pregnant is lacking. Desflurane, therefore, should only be administered to women who are pregnant when it is absolutely necessary.
Breast Feeding
