About Metrogyl M Ointment 5 gm

Metrogyl M Ointment 5 gm is primarily used to treat bacterial skin infections, impetigo, rosacea, and bacterial vaginal infection (bacterial vaginosis). Bacterial infection occurs when harmful bacteria invade and affect the tissues of the skin. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly. Impetigo is a contagious (spread by contact) infection that causes red sores on the face. Rosacea is a skin disease that causes redness, flushing, and pimples on the face.

Metrogyl M Ointment 5 gm is composed of two antibiotics: Mupirocin and Metronidazole. Mupirocin is an antibacterial drug. It prevents the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out its vital functions, thus preventing bacterial growth. Metronidazole belongs to the class of drugs called nitroimidazole antimicrobials. It exerts bactericidal (kills bacteria) action and inhibits bacterial DNA synthesis and cell growth.

Metrogyl M Ointment 5 gm treats various bacterial skin infections, impetigo, rosacea, and bacterial vaginal infection. It consists of Mupirocin and Metronidazole. Mupirocin is an antibiotic and prevents the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out their vital functions. It effectively treats impetigo caused due to Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and Streptococcus pyogenes (S. pyogenes). Metronidazole is an antibacterial drug that treats insect bites, skin ulcers, bed sores, wounds and other bacterial and parasitic infections. It inhibits the DNA synthesis of bacteria and certain parasites and prevents their cell growth. 

Directions for Use

Ointment: Apply a thin layer with clean and dry hands on the skin's affected areas. You can also apply it with a piece of clean cotton wool or a gauze swab. Gently rub the medicine into the skin until it has disappeared.Collagen particles: Check the label for directions before use. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.Powder: Dust the powder on the skin’s affected areas and pat it lightly on the skin.
