About Betadine Vaginal Pessaries

Betadine Vaginal Pessaries is a fungicidal, bactericidal, and trichomonacidal agent used to treat vaginal infections, including vaginal candidiasis, Gardnerella vaginitis/bacterial vaginosis (bacterial overgrowth in the vagina), trichomonal infections, and vaginal inflammation/vaginitis. It also relieves vaginal soreness, itching, and irritation. Vaginal infection is the infection of the vagina and tissues at the opening of the vagina (vulva). 

Betadine Vaginal Pessaries contains Povidone Iodine that works by inhibiting the growth of infection-causing microbes. As a small molecule, iodine can easily penetrate microorganisms and oxidizes essential proteins, nucleotides, and fatty acids, leading to cell death. It is effective against infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, yeast, and protozoa.

Betadine Vaginal Pessaries is for vaginal use only. Common side effects of Betadine Vaginal Pessaries include vaginal pain/soreness, burning sensation, irritation, itching, swelling, redness in the vaginal area, and vaginal dryness. Betadine Vaginal Pessaries is used to treat vaginal infections. It contains Povidone iodine that has fungicidal, bactericidal, and trichomonacidal action. It is useful in treating blood, pus, and vaginal secretions caused due to infection. It is effective against infections caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, yeast, and protozoa. It is also helpful in pre-operative disinfection and diagnostic procedures for acute and chronic infections of the vagina (vaginitis).

Directions for Use

Vaginal gel: Please read the instruction leaflet before using the gel. Take the advised amount of gel and apply gently with a clean hand or an applicator. Wash your hands before and after the application. Your doctor will provide more information on usage and dosing. A pessary is a soft removable device inserted into the vagina. Lie relaxed on your back. Gently insert the pessary into the vagina with clean hands. Vaginal douche kit: Measure the recommended amount of liquid with the measuring cap of the concentrated bottle and transfer the measured liquid into the squeeze bottle provided with the pack. Fill the squeeze bottle with lukewarm water up to its neck. Screw the applicator to the squeeze bottle and gently shake to mix the contents. Gently insert the applicator's nozzle about three inches into the vagina and squeeze the sides of the bottle with both hands to expel the contents. Do not close the vaginal opening, as the douching solution should flow freely out of the vagina.
