It also relieves vaginal soreness, itching, and irritation. Vaginal infection is the infection of the vagina and tissues at the opening of the vagina (vulva). 

Betadine Vaginal Pessaries contains Povidone Iodine that works by inhibiting the growth of infection-causing microbes. As a small molecule, iodine can easily penetrate microorganisms and oxidizes essential proteins, nucleotides, and fatty acids, leading to cell death. It is effective against infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, yeast, and protozoa.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Do not use Betadine Vaginal Pessaries with mercury or silver containing disinfectants and contraceptive devices.

• Avoid frequent douching to maintain the natural moisture in the vagina.
• Avoid scented deodorants and soaps for vaginal cleansing.
• Avoid or limit the intake of alcohol and caffeine.
• Foods and supplements rich in probiotic bacteria may help balance the natural vaginal flora.
• Proper cleaning of the vagina is recommended during bathing or showering.
• Wear cotton lingerie to promote good airflow and decrease moisture build-up.
• Manage stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and get plenty of sleep.
• It is advisable to follow a candida diet during yeast infections. This diet excludes sugar, gluten, certain dairy products, and alcohol, switching to low-sugar fruits, non-starchy vegetables, and gluten-free foods. A very-high sugar or high-carbohydrate diet may increase the count of Candida in some people.

• Do not use Betadine Vaginal Pessaries for four weeks before radioiodine scintigraphy or radioiodine treatment.
