Acytaurine Tablet is used in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy (diabetic kidney disease). Diabetic nephropathy is kidney damage resulting from diabetes. It is a major cause of kidney failure. 

Acytaurine Tablet contains Taurine and Acetylcysteine, which belong to the antioxidant class. This medication functions by shielding the kidneys from damage caused by dangerous substances (free radicals), hence assisting in the reduction of free radical generation that damages tissue. 

Acytaurine Tablet may cause certain side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness, fever, abdominal pain, and rash. If these side effects persist, consult your doctor immediately. Take Acytaurine Tablet as prescribed by your doctor.

Drug-drug interactions: Acytaurine Tablet may interact with medications used to treat cough, a medicine used to treat poisonings (activated charcoal), aminoglycoside antibiotics (gentamicin, streptomycin, tobramycin, and amikacin, etc.), other antibiotics (penicillin and tetracycline), and a medication used to treat angina (glyceryl trinitrate).

Drug-disease interactions: Acytaurine Tablet should be used with caution in patients with asthma, stomach ulcers, liver disease, kidney disease, and allergic to histamines.

• Eat at regular intervals. Do not take the long gap between a meal or snack.
• Lose weight gradually to achieve a healthy body mass index (18.5 to 24.9).
• Replace refined carbohydrates containing whole-grain foods and increase intake of fruits and other fibre-enriched foods.
• Monitor your blood sugar level and blood pressure regularly, especially when there are a lot of fluctuations.
