Voriedge Injection belongs to the class of medicines known as 'antifungals' used to treat a broad range of fungal infections. A fungal infection is caused when a fungus invades and affects any body part, including the mouth, throat, oesophagus, lungs, bladder, genital area and blood.
Voriedge Injection contains 'Voriconazole' that kills or prevents fungus by inhibiting an enzyme in fungi responsible for its normal fat metabolism, thereby interfering with the fungal cell membrane formation. As a result, fungal cells get killed, or their growth is minimized.
Voriedge Injection will be administered by a qualified healthcare professional. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as injection site reactions, peripheral oedema, headache, diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal pain, chest pain, nausea, fever, anxiety, insomnia, confusion, weakness, tingling sensation, sleepiness, dizziness, irregular heartbeats, low blood pressure, stomach upset, constipation, rashes, itchiness, red skin, back pain and chills. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Before taking Voriedge Injection, let your doctor know about your medical condition, sensitivities, and medications. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Voriedge Injection may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery; thus, avoid driving or using machinery.
Voriedge Injection belongs to the class of medicines known as 'antifungal agents', used to treat a broad range of fungal infections, including aspergillosis (a disease caused by Aspergillus), candidiasis (fungal infection caused by yeast), coccidioidomycosis (an infection caused by the fungus Coccidioides), histoplasmosis (an infection caused by a fungus called Histoplasma), and penicilliosis (a disease caused by the fungus Talaromyces marneffei). It also effectively treats CNS fungal infections transmitted by epidural injection of contaminated steroids. On the other hand, it can prevent fungal infections in people undergoing bone marrow transplants. Voriedge Injection works by killing or preventing fungi or yeast by inhibiting an enzyme in fungi responsible for its normal fat metabolism, thereby interfering with the fungal cell membrane formation. As a result, fungal cells get killed, or their growth is minimized.
Inform your doctor about your medical conditions, sensitivities, and medications you are using. And also, let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Women of childbearing potential should always use effective contraception during treatment. Please inform your doctor if you are suffering from a heart problem like an irregular heartbeat, slow heart rate or abnormality in ECG (electrocardiogram), QT prolongation, or if you have hereditary intolerance for galactose, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Voriedge Injection may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery; thus, avoid driving or using machinery.

Fungal infections: Fungal infection occurs when a fungus enters, infects and multiplies in the body. Fungi can live in water, soil, air and plants.
