About Tendomac Tablet

Tendomac Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called 'nutritional supplements' used to treat joint problems. Tendomac Tablet is recommended for the maintenance of joints, muscles, cartilage, the integrity of joints, bone health, joint pain, arthritic pain, stiffness, low back pain, tendonitis or tendinopathy (tendon pain). Joint pain refers to the discomfort, pain, stiffness and soreness in the joints.

Tendomac Tablet contains Collagen, Sodium hyaluronate, Chondroitin sulphate, and Ascorbic acid. Collagen helps regenerate cartilage, thereby providing strength to the bones and improving joints' flexibility. Sodium hyaluronate is similar to the joints' fluid; this acts as a lubricant in the joints and prevents friction between the joints. Chondroitin sulphate prevents the breakdown of collagen tissue in the joints. Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) acts as an antioxidant that helps the synthesis of new collagen fibres and new blood vessel formation and promotes healing at the joint site. Together, Tendomac Tablet relieves pain and stiffness in the joints.

You are advised to take Tendomac Tablet as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as heartburn, stomach pain, headache, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Tendomac Tablet is not recommended for children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. It is unknown if Tendomac Tablet alters your driving ability; however, drive or operate machinery only if you are alert. Consult your doctor before consuming alcohol along with Tendomac Tablet . Do not take any other medicines for pain relief along with Tendomac Tablet unless prescribed. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects.

Uses of Tendomac Tablet

Treatment of Joint pain, Tendonitis (inflammation of tissue connecting bone to muscle)

Medicinal Benefits

Tendomac Tablet is a combination of four drugs, namely: Collagen, Sodium hyaluronate, Chondroitin sulphate, and Ascorbic acid. Tendomac Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called nutritional supplements used to treat joint pain. Tendomac Tablet is recommended for the maintenance of joints, muscles, cartilage, the integrity of joints, bone health, joint pain, arthritic pain, stiffness, low back pain, osteoarthritis, tendonitis or tendinopathy (tendon pain). Collagen helps in the synthesis of new tendon fibre extracellular tissue that maintains the health of tendons. Sodium hyaluronate helps in cross-linking of the collagen fibres within themselves, and with chondroitin sulphate, this helps in offering maximum tensile strength. It also lowers the adhesion between the tendon sheaths, thereby promoting the gliding of tendons freely over the bones while healing. Chondroitin sulphate helps in reinforcing the collagen-chondroitin association cross-links and prevents the breakdown of collagen. Ascorbic acid helps in synthesising new collagen fibres, new blood vessel formation and promotes healing. Together, Tendomac Tablet helps in providing relief from pain and stiffness in the joints.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Joint pain: Joint pain is a physical discomfort that occurs where two or more bones meet. It refers to the discomfort, pain, stiffness and soreness in the joints. Arthritis is a common cause of joint pain. Other reasons include a past injury such as torn cartilage, dislocated joints and ligament injuries. Joint pain occurs when the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering of cartilage. Due to the absence of this protective covering, the joints rub against each other, leading to pain and stiffness. Symptoms include pain, stiffness, inflammation and tenderness.

FAQs

Tendomac Tablet is used to treat Joint pain and tendonitis (inflammation of tissue connecting bone to muscle).
Tendomac Tablet contains Collagen, Sodium hyaluronate, Chondroitin sulphate, and Ascorbic acid. Collagen helps in the regeneration of cartilage, thereby provides strength to the bones and improves the flexibility of joints. Sodium hyaluronate acts as a lubricant in the joints and prevents friction between them. Chondroitin sulphate prevents the breakdown of collagen. Ascorbic acid helps synthesise new collagen fibres and promotes healing.
Pain killers relieve pain by blocking the pain signals but do not correct the basic problem such as degeneration of the joints. Tendomac Tablet contains collagen, which is the main building protein in bone, cartilage, and other connective tissues. Sodium hyaluronate and chondroitin sulphate help in reducing inflammation. Ascorbic acid has an antioxidant property which is required by the body to make collagen. Together, Tendomac Tablet helps in healing the joints and also provides relief from pain.
Tendomac Tablet is used to reduce and relieve pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Arthritis is the tenderness and swelling in the joints.
Tendomac Tablet is used to treat tendon pain in tendonitis and tendinopathy. Tendonitis or tendinopathy occurs due to repetitive mechanical load on the tendons leading to degeneration and inflammation of tendons, often due to athletic activities.
Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Tendomac Tablet . Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience severe diarrhoea, consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
