Cagen Softgel Capsule belongs to a group of medicines called 'nutritional supplements' used to treat joint problems. Cagen Softgel Capsule is recommended for the maintenance of joints, muscles, cartilage, the integrity of joints, bone health, joint pain, arthritic pain, stiffness, low back pain, tendonitis or tendinopathy (tendon pain). Joint pain refers to the discomfort, pain, stiffness and soreness in the joints.
Cagen Softgel Capsule contains Collagen, Sodium hyaluronate, Chondroitin sulphate, and Ascorbic acid. Collagen helps regenerate cartilage, thereby providing strength to the bones and improving joints' flexibility. Sodium hyaluronate is similar to the joints' fluid; this acts as a lubricant in the joints and prevents friction between the joints. Chondroitin sulphate prevents the breakdown of collagen tissue in the joints. Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) acts as an antioxidant that helps the synthesis of new collagen fibres and new blood vessel formation and promotes healing at the joint site. Together, Cagen Softgel Capsule relieves pain and stiffness in the joints.
You are advised to take Cagen Softgel Capsule as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects.
Cagen Softgel Capsule is a combination of four drugs, namely: Collagen, Sodium hyaluronate, Chondroitin sulphate, and Ascorbic acid. Cagen Softgel Capsule belongs to a group of medicines called nutritional supplements used to treat joint pain. Cagen Softgel Capsule is recommended for the maintenance of joints, muscles, cartilage, the integrity of joints, bone health, joint pain, arthritic pain, stiffness, low back pain, osteoarthritis, tendonitis or tendinopathy (tendon pain). Collagen helps in the synthesis of new tendon fibre extracellular tissue that maintains the health of tendons. Sodium hyaluronate helps in cross-linking of the collagen fibres within themselves, and with chondroitin sulphate, this helps in offering maximum tensile strength. It also lowers the adhesion between the tendon sheaths, thereby promoting the gliding of tendons freely over the bones while healing. Chondroitin sulphate helps in reinforcing the collagen-chondroitin association cross-links and prevents the breakdown of collagen. Ascorbic acid helps in synthesising new collagen fibres, new blood vessel formation and promotes healing. Together, Cagen Softgel Capsule helps in providing relief from pain and stiffness in the joints.
Do not take Cagen Softgel Capsule if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor if you have impaired kidney or liver function, high blood pressure, heart problems, asthma, or diabetes. Consult a doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Cagen Softgel Capsule is not recommended for children below 12 years of age, as its safety and effectiveness have not been established. Do not take any other medicines for pain relief along with Cagen Softgel Capsule unless prescribed.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor if you have haemolysis (the breakdown of red blood cells), kidney stones, dialysis, or high blood pressure.
Joint pain: Joint pain is a physical discomfort that occurs where two or more bones meet. It refers to the discomfort, pain, stiffness and soreness in the joints. Arthritis is a common cause of joint pain. Other reasons include a past injury such as torn cartilage, dislocated joints and ligament injuries. Joint pain occurs when the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering of cartilage. Due to the absence of this protective covering, the joints rub against each other, leading to pain and stiffness. Symptoms include pain, stiffness, inflammation and tenderness.
