Sectocef SB Tablet belongs to the group of medications called antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections. Bacterial infections are caused by the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick. Symptoms of bacterial infection vary depending on the organ affected by bacteria.

Sectocef SB Tablet contains Cefixime and Sulbactam. Cefixime is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering, which is required for bacterial survival. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor; the inclusion of sulbactam extends the cefixime spectrum of action to beta-lactamase-producing strains of bacteria.

You should take this medicine exactly as prescribed by the doctor. The common side-effects of Sectocef SB Tablet are diarrhoea, stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting. These side effects are usually mild and temporary. However, if these side effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor immediately.

Certain fermented foods like yoghurt, cheese, sauerkraut and kimchi can help restore the intestine's good bacteria.
• Include more fibre-enriched food in your diet, as it can be easily digested by gut bacteria, which helps stimulate their growth. Thus fibre foods may help restore healthy gut bacteria after taking a course of antibiotics. Whole grains, like whole-grain bread and brown rice, should be included in your diet.
• Avoid taking too much calcium-enriched foods and drinks as it might affect the working of Sectocef SB Tablet .
• Avoid intake of alcoholic beverages with Sectocef SB Tablet as it can make you dehydrated and affect your sleep. This can make it harder for your body to aid the Sectocef SB Tablet in fighting off infections.
