About MOZA SR 15MG TABLET

MOZA SR 15MG TABLET contains a class of medicines known as 'gastrointestinal agents,' primarily used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (reflux of gastric contents into the oesophagus). Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a condition that occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). This backflow (acid reflux) irritates the food pipe and causes heartburn.

MOZA SR 15MG TABLET contains Mosapride, primarily used to treat GERD (gastro-oesophageal reflux disease). It works by increasing the release of certain chemicals (acetylcholine), which helps improve food movement inside the intestine. Thus, gastric emptying of both liquid and solid from the intestine is increased.

Take MOZA SR 15MG TABLET as prescribed. Depending on your medical condition, you are advised to take MOZA SR 15MG TABLET for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as dizziness, headache, nausea, diarrhoea, dry mouth, abdominal pain, headache, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), unusual tiredness and weakness. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Inform your doctor before taking MOZA SR 15MG TABLET if you have a stomach or intestine tumour, liver or kidney disease, or intestinal bleeding. Do not take MOZA SR 15MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. MOZA SR 15MG TABLET may cause dizziness and sleepiness, so drive only if you are alert. MOZA SR 15MG TABLET should not be given to children as safety has not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol and grapefruit juice along with MOZA SR 15MG TABLET as it could lead to increased drowsiness and can elevate stomach acid production. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): The stomach is usually protected from acid by a mucous layer. In some cases, the mucous layer gets eroded due to excess acid production, which leads to complications like acidity, GERD, heartburn, peptic ulcer, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a condition that occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). This backflow (acid reflux) irritates the food pipe and causes heartburn.
