About Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet

Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet is used to prevent and treat symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Asthma is a chronic (long-term) respiratory condition in which airways narrow, swell, and produce extra mucus, leading to difficulty in breathing. COPD is a group of lung diseases with emphysema (shortness of breath) and chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the lining of bronchial tubes).

Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet contains Doxofylline, which acts by inhibiting phosphodiesterase 4 (PD-4), thereby relaxing the bronchial smooth muscle of the lung's airways, making it easier for asthma and COPD patients to breathe easily.

Use Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet as prescribed. Your doctor will recommend you how often you take Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet based on your medical condition. Some people may experience headaches, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, irritability, insomnia (difficulty in falling or staying asleep) or a fast heart rate. Most of these side effects of Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet is contraindicated in acute myocardial infarction, low blood pressure (hypotension), lactating women and patients allergic to Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet . Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet is a bronchodilator and also possesses antitussive (cough suppressant) properties that are used to treat symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet works by relaxing muscles and widening the airways of the lungs, especially in asthma and COPD patients. Additionally, Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet helps in suppressing cough and makes breathing easier by opening airways. Thus, it prevents an asthma attack, and an individual can exercise freely if it is taken before exercise or before expected exposure to irritants such as pollen, house dust, cigarette smoke and pets.

Directions for Use

Do not take Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet if you have low blood pressure or had a heart attack. If you have low blood pressure, congestive heart failure, hypoxemia (low oxygen levels in the blood), hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), pulmonary heart diseases, stomach ulcer, kidney, liver or heart diseases, inform your doctor before taking Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet .

  • Quit smoking as it may reduce the effectiveness of the Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet and irritate the lungs worsening breathing problem.

What if I have taken an overdose of Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Kaifyl-200 mg Tablet as it may cause overdose. The symptoms of overdose include tonic-clonic seizure and severe cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats). If you suspect you have taken overdose or notice signs of overdose, please consult a doctor immediately.
