Hairmax Forte Solution belongs to a class of medicines called dermatologicals used to treat male or female pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia). Alopecia (hair loss) is the thinning or loss of hair on the scalp or any part of the body. Androgenetic alopecia is the permanent hair loss from the scalp that causes baldness. Hair loss can be due to heredity, hormonal changes, medical conditions or a normal part of ageing.

Hairmax Forte Solution is a combination of three drugs, namely: Hydrocortisone (corticosteroid), Minoxidil (vasodilator) and Tretinoin (a form of vitamin A). Hydrocortisone inhibits the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching and swelling of the scalp. Minoxidil widens the blood vessels and improves blood circulation to the hair follicles. Thus, it prevents hair loss and stimulates hair growth. Tretinoin is a form of vitamin A that promotes hair follicles growth on the scalp.

You are advised to use Hairmax Forte Solution for as long as your doctor has recommended it for you based on your condition. In some cases, you may experience headache, itching, rash or redness at the site of application. Most of these side effects of Hairmax Forte Solution do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. 

If you are allergic to Hairmax Forte Solution or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Hairmax Forte Solution is not recommended for children unless advised by a doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult a doctor before using Hairmax Forte Solution. You are recommended to avoid using Hairmax Forte Solution if your scalp is irritated, infected, painful, inflamed or red. Keep the container away from high heat or open flame as it may explode if it gets too hot. If you experience unwanted facial hair growth, scalp redness or irritation, swelling in hands and legs, avoid using Hairmax Forte Solution and consult a doctor.

You are recommended to avoid washing your hair or using a hairdryer for 4 hours after applying Hairmax Forte Solution.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Hairmax Forte Solution may interact with medicines used to treat erectile dysfunction (tadalafil), vitamin A-related drugs known as retinoids (isotretinoin), photosensitising agents (aminolevulinic acid, methoxsalen, porfimer, verteporfin), sensitiser (methyl aminolevulinate), keratolytic agents (benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, sulfur), antiseptic (resorcinol).

• Avoid overusing styling tools like blow dryers, curling rods and chemical dying, which can cause loss of natural hair oils and cause hair fall.
• Regular oiling helps in the blood circulation of the scalp and nourishes the roots.
• Wash your hair three times a week with a good shampoo and conditioner to reduce hair fall.
• Practise yoga and meditation to control stress. 
• Get your regular medical examinations done to keep a check on your hormonal profile and nutritional deficiencies that cause hair fall.
