Alpitec Tablet contains Chlordiazepoxide and Trifluoperazine. Chlordiazepoxide increases the action of a chemical messenger called GABA that suppresses abnormal activity in the brain. Trifluoperazine blocks the action of a chemical messenger called dopamine that affects mood and thoughts.
In some cases, Alpitec Tablet may cause side effects such as dizziness, tiredness, constipation, dry mouth, and weight gain. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.
Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Alpitec Tablet may cause dizziness and sedation; do not drive unless you are alert. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Alpitec Tablet as it may cause severe side effects. Keep the doctor informed about your health condition and medications to rule out any side effects/interactions.

Do not take Alpitec Tablet if you are allergic to its components. Inform the doctor if you have depression, suicidal thoughts, mood disorders, alcoholism or drug addiction, bone marrow suppression, heart, liver or kidney problems, blood disorders, brain tumour, high blood pressure, stomach or intestinal blockage, cancer, glaucoma, seizures, enlarged prostate, or pheochromocytoma (tumour of the adrenal gland). Consult the doctor before taking Alpitec Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Alpitec Tablet may cause sedation and dizziness; do not drive unless you are alert. Let the doctor know if you take other medicines, including supplements or herbal products.
Drug-Drug Interactions: Inform the doctor if you are taking antipsychotics (ziprasidone, aripiprazole), anti-depressants (citalopram, duloxetine, escitalopram, sertraline), anti-anxiety (alprazolam), diuretic (furosemide) or anti-convulsants (topiramate, pregabalin).
