About ScarEnd Gel

ScarEnd Gel belongs to the group of medications called ‘dermatological agents' primarily indicated for the management of scars occurring due to surgery, burns, stretch marks, acne, and breast amputations. The scar is a brown or pale pink patch of skin that marks the site where the skin has healed.

ScarEnd Gel contains Allantoin, Heparin sodium, and Allium cepa extract. Allantoin is a keratolytic agent that removes dead skin cells. It also has the effect of speeding up wound healing and softening the skin. Heparin sodium is an anti-inflammatory agent that reduces inflammation symptoms. Allium cepa extract prevents infection by killing the microorganisms. As a result, ScarEnd Gel effectively inhibits scar tissue growth and softens scar tissue.

Use this medication exactly as prescribed by the doctor. The common side-effects of ScarEnd Gel are pruritus, erythema (redness), telangiectasia (visible dilation of blood vessels), and scar atrophy (scar lower than skin surface). These side effects do not necessitate medical treatment and fade away with time. However, if these side effects last for more than a week, you should seek medical help.

It is not recommended to use ScarEnd Gel if you are allergic to any of its contents. ScarEnd Gel should not be used on open wounds, unhealed wounds, or mucous membranes (eyes, nose, mouth, and genital areas). Pregnant and breastfeeding women should exercise caution when using ScarEnd Gel. ScarEnd Gel is not recommended for use in children under one year. ScarEnd Gel may not interact with alcohol and may not impair your driving ability.

Medicinal Benefits

ScarEnd Gel is used to treat several forms of scars after the wounds have healed. It is appropriate for individuals who have movement-inhibiting, hypertrophic, keloid (thick scars that are higher than the skin's surface and occasionally a different colour than the surrounding skin), visually disfiguring scars as a result of a surgery, amputation, burn, or accident. It is also useful for contractures such as Dupuytren's contracture (persistently bent fingers), traumatic tendon contractures, as well as atrophic scars (scars that are lower or higher than the skin's surface). As a result, ScarEnd Gel effectively treats scars.

Scars: A scar is a brown or pale pink patch of skin that marks the site where the skin has healed. Scars can develop as a result of burns, wounds, scrapes, acne, amputations, or surgery. Scars are classified into keloid scars, hypertrophic scars, and contractures. Keloid scars are circular, thick, and uneven scars that occur outside the margins of a wound. Hypertrophic scars are similar to keloid scars but form within the wound's margins. Contractures are scars formed when a bigger skin region is injured and destroyed, such as during surgery.
