About Nocinix Gel

Nocinix Gel is used to relieve acute musculoskeletal pain and osteoarthritis. It effectively reduces pain, swelling, and joint stiffness, thereby improving your ability to move and flex the joint. Osteoarthritis is a long-term musculoskeletal joint disorder that causes damage to the cartilage and surrounding tissues characterized by pain, swelling, stiffness, and loss of function.

Nocinix Gel contains diclofenac, linseed oil, methyl salicylate, and menthol. Diclofenac and methyl salicylate work by lowering hormones in the body that cause inflammation and pain. Linseed oil inhibits inflammatory mediators like leukotrienes, thereby reducing inflammation. Menthol is a soothing and cooling agent which provides a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels. Together, Nocinix Gel helps relieve mild to moderate pain in musculoskeletal and joint conditions.

Nocinix Gel is only for external use. Use Nocinix Gel for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. You may sometimes experience common side effects such as itching, irritation, redness, and burning sensation at the application site. Most of these side effects do not necessitate medical attention and will subside gradually over time. However, you should consult your doctor if you are experiencing these side effects regularly.

Please do not use Nocinix Gel without a doctor's advice if you have a skin reaction or irritation to any medicine. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Nocinix Gel in more than prescribed doses or for a longer duration as it may cause adverse effects. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and all the medicines to rule out any side effects. Do not take any other NSAIDs for pain relief along with Nocinix Gel unless prescribed. Nocinix Gel is not recommended for children below 14 years as safety and efficacy have not been established.

Description

Nocinix Gel is a topical ointment that combines diclofenac, linseed oil, menthol, and methyl salicylate. This unique blend of ingredients lends analgesic, cooling, and soothing properties. It's primarily used to relieve discomfort associated with acute musculoskeletal disorders like sprains, strains, tendonitis, and various types of pain, including shoulder, hand, neck, sciatica, joint, and backache.

Nocinix Gel operates by inhibiting the body's prostaglandins, which are central to causing inflammation and pain. Furthermore, its linseed oil component helps minimise skin irritation while imparting a calming effect. Methyl salicylate actuates blood flow by dilating blood vessels and imparts a counter-irritation effect on the skin, resulting in a soothing warmth that can alleviate musculoskeletal pain. Lastly, menthol gives a cooling sensation on the skin before inducing warmth.
