About Lyoflora Capsule

Lyoflora Capsule is used to treat and prevent diarrhoea, including rotaviral diarrhoea in children. Lyoflora Capsule may also be used for acne, antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea, Helicobacter pylori infection, traveller’s diarrhoea, diarrhoea in people with HIV/AIDS, and necrotising enterocolitis (a serious intestinal disease in premature infants).
 
Lyoflora Capsule contains ‘Saccharomyces boulardii’, a friendly micro-organism that helps fight disease-causing organisms in the gut, such as yeast and bacteria. Thereby, Lyoflora Capsule helps in treating diarrhoea. Lyoflora Capsule helps restore the balance of intestinal bacterial flora and strengthens immunity and overall gut health.
 
You are advised to take Lyoflora Capsule for as long as your doctor has recommended it for you, depending on your medical condition. Lyoflora Capsule is generally safe and does not cause any side effects. Sometimes, it may cause gas, bloating, and constipation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. Talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Lyoflora Capsule contains ‘Saccharomyces boulardii, a friendly micro-organism that helps fight disease-causing organisms in the gut, such as yeast and bacteria. Thereby, Lyoflora Capsule helps in treating diarrhoea. Lyoflora Capsule may also be used for acne, antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea, Helicobacter pylori infection, traveller’s diarrhoea, diarrhoea in people with HIV/AIDS, and necrotising enterocolitis (a serious intestinal disease in premature infants).

Directions for Use

Sachet/Powder/Granules: Mix the contents in water or beverage and swallow. Avoid mixing the contents with very hot or cold liquids.Capsule: Swallow the capsule as a whole with water. Do not crush, break or chew it.Orodispersible sticks: These should be administered orally, directly or mixed with water. Do not mix with very cold or hot water.Dry syrup/Syrup: Check the label for directions and use it as advised by the doctor.

  • Eat fibre-rich food such as whole grains, lentils, beans, broccoli, and peas.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly before eating while preparing or serving food.

Diarrhoea: Diarrhoea is the condition in which there is a frequent need to empty the bowels. It is characterised by loose and watery stools. Diarrhoea could be acute or chronic. Acute diarrhoea generally lasts for a few days. It could occur due to bacterial infection or food poisoning. Chronic diarrhoea lasts for at least four weeks. It could occur due to intestinal disease/disorder such as Crohn’s disease or celiac disease. The causes of diarrhoea include food intolerance, food allergy, adverse reaction to any medicine, viral infection, bacterial infection, intestinal disease, parasitic infection, and stomach or gallbladder surgery. The symptoms of diarrhoea include nausea, abdominal pain, cramps, dehydration, and bloating, frequent urge to empty the bowels, a large volume of stools or watery stools.
