Ekolac B Sachet (1gm Each) is used to treat and prevent diarrhoea, including rotaviral diarrhoea in children. Ekolac B Sachet (1gm Each) may also be used for acne, antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea, Helicobacter pylori infection, traveller’s diarrhoea, diarrhoea in people with HIV/AIDS, and necrotising enterocolitis (a serious intestinal disease in premature infants).
 
Ekolac B Sachet (1gm Each) contains ‘Saccharomyces boulardii’, a friendly micro-organism that helps fight disease-causing organisms in the gut, such as yeast and bacteria. Thereby, Ekolac B Sachet (1gm Each) helps in treating diarrhoea. Ekolac B Sachet (1gm Each) helps restore the balance of intestinal bacterial flora and strengthens immunity and overall gut health.
 
You are advised to take Ekolac B Sachet (1gm Each) for as long as your doctor has recommended it for you, depending on your medical condition. Ekolac B Sachet (1gm Each) is generally safe and does not cause any side effects. Sometimes, it may cause gas, bloating, and constipation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. Talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
 
Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medicines or herbal products before starting Ekolac B Sachet (1gm Each). If you are known to be allergic to any of the components in Ekolac B Sachet (1gm Each), please inform your doctor. Consult your doctor before taking Ekolac B Sachet (1gm Each) if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Ekolac B Sachet (1gm Each) can be given to children if recommended by a doctor. Avoid or limit alcohol consumption while taking Ekolac B Sachet (1gm Each).

• Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
• Include bland foods such as bananas, rice, apples, cream of wheat, soda crackers, farina, applesauce, and toast to avoid aggravating the digestive system.
• Avoid eating foods such as milk, dairy products, spicy foods, processed foods, pork, veal, sardines, raw vegetables, rhubarb, onions, corn, citrus fruits, alcohol, pineapples, cherries, seeded berries, grapes, caffeinated and carbonated drinks. 
• Eat fibre-rich food such as whole grains, lentils, beans, broccoli, and peas.
• Wash your hands thoroughly before eating while preparing or serving food.
