About Zytee L Gel

Zytee L Gel is used in the treatment of mouth ulcers and oropharynx (middle part of the throat) inflammation. Mouth ulcers, also known as canker sores, are small, painful lesions that develop in the mouth or at the base of the gums. These can make you uncomfortable while eating, drinking, and talking. They usually heal within a few weeks and are not contagious.

Zytee L Gel is a combination of three drugs, namely: Benzalkonium chloride (antibacterial agent), Choline salicylate (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug), and Lignocaine hydrochloride (local anaesthetic). Benzalkonium chloride acts as an antibacterial agent and prevents secondary infections. Thus, it promotes the quick healing of mouth ulcers. Choline salicylate works by blocking the action of the cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme in the body that is involved in the production of certain chemical substances, such as prostaglandins, that cause pain and swelling. Thereby, it helps in relieving pain and swelling. Lignocaine hydrochloride decreases pain sensation by preventing the transmission of pain signals from nerves to the brain.

Zytee L Gel is for topical oral use only. You are advised to use Zytee L Gel for as long as your doctor has recommended it for you based on your condition. In some cases, you may experience itching or irritation at the site of the application. These side effects of Zytee L Gel do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Zytee L Gel or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Avoid contact of Zytee L Gel with nose, ears, mouth, or eyes. In case Zytee L Gel comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, please inform your doctor before using Zytee L Gel. Avoid using Zytee L Gel in large amounts or for a longer time than advised as it does not give quick or better results but increases the risk of side effects.
