Vitcofol Injection 10 ml

Vitcofol Injection is used to treat nutritional deficiencies. It is used to treat and prevent niacin deficiency (pellagra), folate deficiency, and vitamin B12 deficiency. Nutritional deficiency occurs when the body is unable to absorb or get enough nutrients from food. It could lead to various health problems, including defective bone growth, skin disorders, digestive issues, and dementia (memory loss).

Vitcofol Injection contains Folic acid, Cyanocobalamin/Vitamin B12, and Nicotinamide (vitamin B3). Folic acid helps in the formation of red blood cells and prevents DNA changes that may lead to cancer. Cyanocobalamin regulates body functions, such as cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis. Nicotinamide (also known as Niacinamide) helps in replenishing the energy in the body cells and provides essential nutrients.

Your doctor will decide the dosage and duration of Vitcofol Injection based on your medical condition. Sometimes, Vitcofol Injection may cause common side effects like nausea, upset stomach, and diarrhoea. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please reach out to your doctor.

Let your doctor know if you use prescription, non-prescription drugs, and herbal products before starting Vitcofol Injection. If you are allergic to any of the components in Vitcofol Injection, please inform your doctor. If you are a pregnant or breastfeeding mother, please consult your doctor before taking Vitcofol Injection. It is advised to limit or avoid alcohol intake to get maximum absorption of vitamins.

Let your doctor know if you have a medical history of bleeding problems (low platelets), blood disorders (pernicious anaemia), diabetes, gout, liver/kidney diseases, or stomach ulcers before starting Vitcofol Injection. Pregnant and breastfeeding women are advised to consult their doctor before taking Vitcofol Injection. It is not recommended to consume alcohol while being treated with Vitcofol Injection since excessive alcohol consumption reduces the absorption and increases the elimination of folic acid.

• Try folate-rich food sources like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, leafy green vegetables, cabbage, kale, spring greens, spinach, peas, chickpeas, kidney beans, and breakfast cereals fortified with folic acid.

• Sprinkle sunflower seeds over your food, vegetables and salads. 

• Include fruits like citrus, banana, and watermelon in your diet.

• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.

• Exercise regularly and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Avoid excess fatty foods.
