Varnisam 1 mg Tablet is primarily used to treat nicotine addiction. Nicotine is an addictive chemical found in the tobacco plant. Varnisam 1 mg Tablet contains 'Varenicline,' which belongs to the class of 'nicotinic agonists. It blocks the effects of nicotine by acting on the nicotinic receptors in the central nervous system. Varnisam 1 mg Tablet helps in reducing the craving and withdrawal symptoms that occur after quitting smoking. It decreases the sense of satisfaction or enjoyment that occurs while smoking, thereby helping adults quit smoking.

Your doctor will advise the dose and duration to take Varnisam 1 mg Tablet based on your condition. The common side effects of Varnisam 1 mg Tablet include nausea, headache, vomiting, drowsiness, gas, constipation, trouble sleeping or insomnia, unusual dreams, and taste changes. Directions for Use

There are three ways to use the tablet. You can choose any way of using Varnisam 1 mg Tablet under the supervision of your doctor. Take the tablet with a glass of water and preferably with food.1. Set a date to give up smoking and start Varnisam 1 mg Tablet a week exactly before the set date. Make sure that you quit smoking on the date decided. Take Varnisam 1 mg Tablet for a period of 12 weeks in the dose and duration suggested by your doctor.2. Start taking Varnisam 1 mg Tablet and decide a date to quit smoking between 8-35 days after you start treatment. Take Varnisam 1 mg Tablet for 12 weeks in the dose and duration suggested by your doctor.3. Start taking the tablet and decrease the number of cigarettes you smoke every day gradually for a 12-week period until you completely stop smoking. Then, take it for more than 12 weeks for a total of 24 weeks period in the dose and duration suggested by the doctor.The above usage ways are for reference only. Varnisam 1 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients younger than 18 years of age.

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction: Varnisam 1 mg Tablet may interact with antidiabetics (insulin), blood thinners (warfarin), anti-ulcers (cimetidine), HIV/AIDS drugs (dolutegravir), chest pain medicines (ranolazine), anti-cancers (vandetanib), and respiratory drugs (theophylline).

Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid alcohol intake since it may worsen the side effects like dizziness and drowsiness.
