Truzap Shampoo is used to treat fungal infections. It is used to treat seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp characterized by dandruff, red skin, itching, etc. Fungal infection occurs when a fungus invades and affects the tissue on the skin. Symptoms of a fungal infection include skin rash, irritation, redness, and scaling of the skin.
Truzap Shampoo contains 'Ciclopirox and Zinc pyrithione'. Ciclopirox works by inhibiting the growth of fungus and reducing the infection. It causes membrane instability by accumulating inside fungal cells and interfering with protein transport across the fungal cell membrane. Zinc pyrithione slows the production of skin cells and helps reduce flakiness. As a result, it clears dandruff, red skin, itching, etc.
Truzap Shampoo is only for external use. Use Truzap Shampoo as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Truzap Shampoo for as long as prescribed for you, depending on your medical condition. Avoid contact with the nose, mouth or eyes. In case Truzap Shampoo comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience itching, irritation or burning sensation at the site of application. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are known to be allergic to Truzap Shampoo or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using. Truzap Shampoo is not recommended for children below 16 years of age. Do not use in more than prescribed doses, or for a prolonged time as it may cause adverse effects. Inform your doctor if you have diabetes, HIV, or AIDS or undergoing chemotherapy and seizures.
Truzap Shampoo is a combination of two drugs, Ciclopirox and Zinc Pyrithione, that is primarily used to treat fungal infections of the skin, such as seborrheic dermatitis (dry, flaky skin on face, scalp, chest, upper back or ears). The fungal cell membranes are essential for their survival as they prevent the entry of unwanted substances into the cells and stops the leakage of cell contents. Truzap Shampoo causes holes in the fungal cell membranes and kills fungi. Thereby, clears fungal infection and provides relief from cracking, burning, scaling and itching caused due to infections.
