About TEARMIST EYE DROPS

TEARMIST EYE DROPS belongs to a group of medicines called eye lubricants used to relieve burning sensation, irritation, and discomfort due to dryness of the eye or irritation from wind and sun. TEARMIST EYE DROPS provides protection and comfort to dry eyes. It helps protect the dry ocular tissue from damage due to friction/irritants and enhances the healing of epithelial tissues.

TEARMIST EYE DROPS is a combination of two drugs, namely: Hypromellose and Benzalkonium. Hypromellose acts as a lubricant that works as natural tears and helps relieve burning sensation, dryness, and discomfort. Benzalkonium acts as a preservative. Together, TEARMIST EYE DROPS helps in treating dry eyes.

You are advised to use TEARMIST EYE DROPS for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as pain, irritation, blurred vision, and redness of the eye. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

TEARMIST EYE DROPS is for ophthalmic (eye) use only. Talk to your doctor if the irritation persists despite using TEARMIST EYE DROPS for three days or if it worsens. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. TEARMIST EYE DROPS should be used in children only if prescribed by the doctor. Inform your doctor regarding other prescription, non-prescription, and herbal medicines you are taking to prevent any side effects/interactions.

Dry eyes: Dry eye is a common eye condition that occurs when your tears cannot provide ample lubrication for the eyes. The tearing instability leads to inflammation and damage of the eye surface.
