About Reflora-R Sachet 1 gm

Reflora-R Sachet 1 gm belongs to the group of antidiarrheal medicines used to treat diarrhoea. Reflora-R Sachet 1 gm is indicated in conditions such as antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, irritable bowel syndrome, infectious diarrhoea, nosocomial diarrhoea, and lactose intolerance. Diarrhoea is the condition in which there is a frequent need to empty the bowels. It is characterized by loose and watery stools.

Reflora-R Sachet 1 gm contains Racecadotril, Lactic acid bacillus, and Saccharomyces boulardii. Racecadotril works by decreasing the amount of salts and fluids secreted into the intestine, thereby making the stools less watery and helping in controlling diarrhoea. Lactic acid bacillus and Saccharomyces boulardii are probiotics which help restore the balance of good bacteria that may have gotten upset due to antibiotic use or infections.

You are advised to take Reflora-R Sachet 1 gm for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, Reflora-R Sachet 1 gm may cause common side effects such as headache and rash. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Diarrhoea: It is the condition in which there is a frequent need to empty the bowels. It is characterized by loose and watery stools. Diarrhoea could be acute or chronic. Acute diarrhoea generally lasts for a few days. It could occur due to bacterial, viral infection or food poisoning. Chronic diarrhoea lasts for at least four weeks. It could occur due to intestinal disease/disorder such as Crohn’s disease or celiac disease.
