Racida Sachet 1 gm belongs to the group of antidiarrheal medicines used to treat diarrhoea. Racida Sachet 1 gm is indicated in conditions such as antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, irritable bowel syndrome, infectious diarrhoea, nosocomial diarrhoea, and lactose intolerance. Diarrhoea is the condition in which there is a frequent need to empty the bowels. It is characterized by loose and watery stools.
Racida Sachet 1 gm contains Racecadotril, Lactic acid bacillus, and Saccharomyces boulardii. Racecadotril works by decreasing the amount of salts and fluids secreted into the intestine, thereby making the stools less watery and helping in controlling diarrhoea. Lactic acid bacillus and Saccharomyces boulardii are probiotics which help restore the balance of good bacteria that may have gotten upset due to antibiotic use or infections.
You are advised to take Racida Sachet 1 gm for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, Racida Sachet 1 gm may cause common side effects such as headache and rash. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.
Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Talk to your doctor if you have a fever, blood or pus in stools, are suffering from chronic diarrhoea, kidney or liver problems, diarrhoea caused by antibiotics, or prolonged or uncontrolled vomiting.
