About Nimosin-SP Tablet

Nimosin-SP Tablet belongs to the class of medications called ‘analgesics’ used to treat mild to moderate pain. It can relieve pain, swelling, and inflammation associated with various chronic (long-term) conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis (joint pain, especially in the hands and feet) and osteoarthritis (joint pain, especially in the knees, hip, hands, neck, and lower back). It can also relieve acute (short-term) pain such as toothache, ear pain, throat pain, muscle ache, and backache.

Nimosin-SP Tablet is a combination medicine that contains Nimesulide, Paracetamol, and Serratiopeptidase. Nimesulide and Paracetamol are pain killers. They can also reduce fever and inflammation. They act by blocking the action of chemical messengers responsible for pain, fever, and inflammation. On the other hand, Serratiopeptidase is an enzyme which works by breaking down abnormal proteins at the site of inflammation and promotes healing.

Nimosin-SP Tablet is available in the form of a tablet. It would be best if you took this Nimosin-SP Tablet precisely as prescribed by your doctor. Nimosin-SP Tablet may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, indigestion, stomach pain, headache, heartburn, and diarrhoea. These side effects are usually mild and temporary. However, if any of these side effects persist or worsen, consult a doctor immediately.

Do not take Nimosin-SP Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contents. Nimosin-SP Tablet should not be used in patients with liver failure, severe kidney failure, heart failure, gastric ulcers, bleeding disorders, and alcohol or drug abuse. Before taking Nimosin-SP Tablet, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Nimosin-SP Tablet should not be given to children below 12 years of age. In elderly people, Nimosin-SP Tablet may be given with caution. Alcohol should not be taken while using Nimosin-SP Tablet as it further increases the risk of liver damage. Nimosin-SP Tablet may not affect your ability to drive. However, do not drive or operate heavy machinery if you feel dizzy.

Medicinal Benefits

Nimosin-SP Tablet is a combination medicine that contains Nimesulide, Paracetamol, and Serratiopeptidase. Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic. Both medicines can reduce pain and fever. They act by blocking the action of chemical messengers responsible for pain, fever, and inflammation. Serratiopeptidase is an enzyme. It causes thinning of the fluids around the damaged tissue, thereby making fluid drainage easier in the swollen tissue. This effect reduces swelling and promotes faster healing. Together, Nimosin-SP Tablet can effectively reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Pain: Pain is a symptom triggered by the nervous system, causing uncomfortable sensations in the body. It can be temporary (acute) or lifelong (chronic). Acute pain is, for a short time, caused by damage to the tissues of the muscle, bone, or organs. At the same time, chronic pain lasts lifelong and can occur due to severe inflammation or tissue damage, such as in cases of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Extreme tissue pain and inflammation caused due to sprains, strains, trauma, or post-surgery may require a prolonged amount of time to heal.

Osteoarthritis: It is a joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering of cartilage. Due to the absence of this protective covering, the joints rub against each other, leading to pain and stiffness. Symptoms include pain, stiffness, inflammation, and tenderness.

Rheumatoid arthritis: It is an auto-immune disease (the body's immune system attacks its tissue), leading to joint pain and damage. Symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis include pain, swelling, stiffness, deformities, and loss of joint function.
