New Dolo-Cold Tablet is primarily used to treat the common cold and allergy symptoms like sneezing, watery eyes or itchy/watery nose and throat. The common cold is a respiratory illness affecting the nose and throat, mostly caused by 'rhinovirus'. The virus spreads quickly through droplets in the air when a person who is sick sneezes, coughs, or talks.
New Dolo-Cold Tablet contains Paracetamol, Phenylephrine hydrochloride, Chlorpheniramine maleate, and Caffeine. Paracetamol inhibits the production of certain chemical messengers in the brain known as 'prostaglandins' responsible for pain and fever. Phenylephrine hydrochloride helps shrink the blood vessels in the nasal passage, thereby reducing the stuffy nose. Chlorpheniramine maleate blocks the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. Caffeine acts as a stimulant and increases alertness.
New Dolo-Cold Tablet can be taken with or without food or as directed by the physician. Your doctor will recommend how often you need to take New Dolo-Cold Tablet based on your medical condition. In some cases, New Dolo-Cold Tablet may cause common side effects such as drowsiness, sleepiness, nausea, fatigue, difficulty sleeping, and headache. Most 0f these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, consult your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.
Do not consume New Dolo-Cold Tablet if you are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you have hypertension (high blood pressure), liver or kidney disease, or coronary artery disease (heart disease). New Dolo-Cold Tablet may cause sleepiness, so do not drive or operate heavy machinery unless you are alert. Consumption of alcohol should be avoided as it may lead to excessive sleepiness.

If you have high blood pressure, diabetes, hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), stomach ulcer, enlarged prostate gland, kidney, liver, heart, or urinary problems, inform your doctor before taking New Dolo-Cold Tablet . Do not take New Dolo-Cold Tablet if you have taken an MAO inhibitor (anti-depressant medication) in the past 14 days.
Drug-Drug Interactions: New Dolo-Cold Tablet may interact with anti-allergic drugs (diphenhydramine, cetirizine), antidepressants (duloxetine, imipramine, amitriptyline), anticonvulsants (clonazepam), antianxiety drug (alprazolam), cough suppressants (dextromethorphan), bronchodilator (albuterol), melatonin receptor agonist (ramelteon), and pain killers (ibuprofen).
Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid intake of caffeine-containing foods (like coffee) and alcoholic beverages as they may cause increased drowsiness, dizziness, and difficulty concentrating.
Drug-Disease Interactions: If you have high blood pressure, diabetes, hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), stomach ulcer, Raynaud's phenomenon (decreased blood flow to the fingers), enlarged prostate gland, kidney, liver, heart, or urinary problems, inform your doctor before taking New Dolo-Cold Tablet .
Common cold: The common cold is an infection caused by 'rhinoviruses', affecting the nose and throat (upper respiratory tract). Children younger than six years are at the most significant risk of colds, but healthy adults can also be affected to have 2-3 colds annually. In most cases, cold symptoms are recovered within a week or ten days. However, symptoms might last longer in people who smoke or are exposed to allergens like pollutants, dust, etc. The common cold symptoms include sneezing, sore throat, cough, congestion, mild body pains, low fever, mild headache, feeling unwell, stuffy, or runny nose.
