Minokem-N 2% Solution belongs to a class of medicines called dermatological used to treat hair loss. Alopecia (hair loss) is the thinning or loss of hair on the scalp or any part of the body.
Minokem-N 2% Solution is a combination of three drugs: Azelaic acid, Minoxidil (vasodilator), and Tretinoin (a form of vitamin A). Azelaic acid is a naturally occurring acid that works by blocking a 5-alpha-reductase enzyme in the body that converts testosterone (male hormone) into dihydrotestosterone which causes hair loss. Thereby, it reduces dihydrotestosterone levels and slows down hair loss. Minoxidil widens the blood vessels and improves blood circulation to the hair follicles. Thus, it prevents hair loss and stimulates hair growth. Tretinoin is a form of vitamin A that promotes hair follicle growth on the scalp.
