Lomostop MF 100 mg/400 mg Tablet belongs to a class of medicines known as antibiotics. This is used to treat various infections caused by bacteria, dysentery and diarrhea. Amoebic dysentery can be caused due to entamoeba histolytica, giardia lamblia or clostridium difficile. Diarrhea is the increase in bowel movement leading to increased and loose motions.

Lomostop MF 100 mg/400 mg Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics that include furazolidone and metronidazole. Lomostop MF 100 mg/400 mg Tablet contains flurazolidone works by interfering with the protein synthesis, a mechanism which is important for survival of bacteria. Metronidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that are responsible for causing infections. It works by damaging their DNA. Collectively they help in treating the disease effectively.

Drug-Drug Interaction: This medicine may have an interaction with antiparkinson’s medicine (selegiline, rasagiline, apomorphine), a medicine used in cough (dextromethorphan), antiallergic (phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine), medicine for the fit disorder (phenobarbital), medicine for enlarged prostate gland (a gland between the bladder and penis) (alfuzosin), medicine for heart disease (amiodarone), antibiotic (clarithromycin), antacid (omeprazole).
