Gestafol Plus Capsule belongs to the class of 'multivitamins', primarily used to treat nutritional deficiencies. Nutritional deficiency occurs when the body is unable to absorb or get enough nutrients from food. It could lead to various health problems, including defective bone growth, skin disorders, digestive issues, and dementia (memory loss). 

Gestafol Plus Capsule contains L Methylfolate, Pyridoxine and Methylcobalamin. L Methylfolate helps in producing new blood cells and prevents low folate levels. Pyridoxine is a water-soluble vitamin involved in protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism and the formation of red blood cells and neurotransmitters. Methylcobalamin regulates body functions, such as cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis. 

Your doctor will decide the dosage based on your medical condition. Sometimes, Gestafol Plus Capsule may have common side effects like nausea, stomach upset, and diarrhoea. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. Please consult your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Gestafol Plus Capsule is used to treat nutritional deficiencies. It contains L Methylfolate, Pyridoxine and Methylcobalamin. L Methylfolate helps the formation of red blood cells and prevents DNA changes that may lead to cancer. It prevents and treats folate deficiency. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is involved in protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism and the formation of red blood cells and neurotransmitters. It helps in cognitive development through the biosynthesis of neurotransmitters and maintains normal homocysteine levels (an amino acid in the blood). Methylcobalamin (Mecobalamin) regulates body functions like cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis. It treats alcoholic and diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage) and pernicious anaemia.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Gestafol Plus Capsule may interact with anti-cancer drugs (altretamine) and fits medicines (phenytoin).

Drug-Food Interaction: Please avoid alcohol while using Gestafol Plus Capsule to ensure maximum absorption of nutrients.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Use Gestafol Plus Capsule with medical advice if you have malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food), heart/kidney/liver/blood vessel diseases, and allergic reactions to medicines.

• Try folate-rich food sources like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, leafy green vegetables, cabbage, kale, spring greens, spinach, peas, chickpeas, kidney beans, and breakfast cereals fortified with folic acid.
• Sprinkle sunflower seeds over your food, vegetables and salads. 
• Include fruits like citrus, banana, and watermelon in your diet.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
• Exercise regularly and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Avoid excess fatty foods.

• Clinical monitoring of vitamins B12 and B6 levels through blood examinations is recommended. 
• Let your doctor and the laboratory staff know if you are using Gestafol Plus Capsule since Pyridoxine may interfere with laboratory tests like urine tests for urobilinogen.
