About Genteal Gel

Genteal Gel is used to relieve dry eye conditions. Dry eye is a common condition that occurs if you don't produce enough tears or produce poor-quality tears. This tear instability leads to inflammation and damage to the surface of the eyes.

Genteal Gel contains 'Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and Carbomer 980'. Both are thickening agents that help to maintain proper lubrication of the eyes. It works similarly to natural tears and provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort due to dryness of the eye.

Genteal Gel is usually taken when needed or per the doctor's advice based on the eye condition. Wait for at least 10 minutes before using any other medication on the same eye to avoid dilution. You may experience minor side effects, including blurred vision, eye pain, eye irritation, eye redness and foreign body sensation in the eyes. If it persists, take the advice of your doctor.

Avoid using Genteal Gel if you are allergic to any ingredients of it. Wash your hands thoroughly with water before and after each use. To prevent contamination, avoid touching the tube's tip and replace the cap tightly after each use. Since this medicine may cause temporary blurred vision, do not drive, operate machinery, or engage in any activity until your eyesight is clear. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using this medicine. If you use any other eye drops or ointments, you should wait at least ten minutes after using Genteal Gel.

Disease/Condition Glossary

A dry eye is a condition in which a person doesn't have enough quality tears to lubricate and nourish the eye. Tears are necessary to maintain the eye's front surface's health and provide clear vision. Dry eye is a common and chronic problem, particularly in older adults. With each blink of the eyelids, tears spread across the front surface of the eye, known as the cornea. Tears provide lubrication, reduce the risk of eye infection, wash away foreign matter in the eye and keep the surface of the eyes smooth and clear. Excess tears in the eyes flow into small drainage ducts in the inner corners of the eyelids, which drain into the back of the nose. Dry eyes can occur when tear production and drainage are not in balance.
