Give your kids enough calcium supply through foods like dairy products, nuts, seeds, beans, calcium-fortified cereals and orange juices. If necessary, your doctor may also suggest a Vitamin D supplement for your child. Encourage your kids to play and exercise in sunlight in the early morning to get Vitamin D from sun exposure. However, please protect your child from excess sun exposure by providing adequate clothing, shade, and sunscreen. Activities like walking, running, jumping, and climbing are also good for building strong bones.
