Flucita Tablet belongs to a class of medications called antipsychotics. It is used to treat schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that affects the ability of a person to feel, think and behave clearly.
Flucita Tablet is a combination of two drugs: flupentixol and escitalopram. Flupentixol inhibits dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that influences thoughts and mood. Escitalopram increases the amount of serotonin, a natural substance in the brain that helps improve mood or mental balance. Thus, Flucita Tablet treats Schizophrenia.
Take Flucita Tablet as prescribed by the doctor. Sometimes, Flucita Tablet may cause common side effects such as headaches, feeling sick (nausea), feeling tired or weak, dry mouth, feeling sleepy, irregular heartbeat, insomnia, drowsiness and change in weight. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen.
Before taking Flucita Tablet , let your doctor know about all your medical conditions, sensitivities, and medications you are using. Even if you feel better, do not stop taking medication unless instructed by the doctor. Flucita Tablet should not be used in pregnant women and the paediatric population. Flucita Tablet may cause dizziness and drowsiness, so avoid driving vehicles or operating machinery unless you are alert.
Flucita Tablet is a medication that combines flupentixol with escitalopram. Flupentixol works in the brain to block dopamine, a chemical messenger that regulates thoughts and mood. Escitalopram raises serotonin levels in the brain, a natural substance that aids mental balance. As a result, Flucita Tablet offers treatment for Schizophrenia.
Do not use Flucita Tablet if you are allergic to any of the components. Flucita Tablet is not suitable for some people. To make sure it is safe for you, tell your doctor before taking Flucita Tablet if you have epilepsy or are having electroconvulsive treatment, have a heart problem, have ever been tested for low sodium levels, have glaucoma, or are trying to become pregnant, already pregnant or breastfeeding. If you have diabetes, escitalopram may make it more difficult to maintain a stable blood sugar level. Your doctor may advise you to test your blood sugar levels more frequently during the first few weeks of escitalopram treatment and, if necessary, change your diabetes treatment. So, inform your doctor about all your medical conditions and medications used.
