About CIDNAVIR 75MG/ML INJ

CIDNAVIR 75MG/ML INJ is an antiviral medicine used in the treatment of cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis. Cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis is a viral infection that affects the retina of the eye caused by a virus called Cytomegalovirus (CMV), especially in AIDS patients. It is a serious infection that can lead to blindness. CIDNAVIR 75MG/ML INJ is used in combination with oral probenecid.

CIDNAVIR 75MG/ML INJ contains Cidofovir, which works by inhibiting the CMV polymerase enzyme responsible for viral DNA synthesis. It works by slowing the growth of the cytomegalovirus. Thus, it helps treat Cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis.

CIDNAVIR 75MG/ML INJ may cause certain side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, hair loss, rash, weakness, fever, inflammation of the eye, shortness of breath, diarrhoea, chills, and pain at the injection site. These side effects may not occur in every patient using this medication and gradually resolve over time. If the side effects persist longer or worsen, please inform your doctor. A healthcare professional will administer CIDNAVIR 75MG/ML INJ; hence, do not self-administer.

CIDNAVIR 75MG/ML INJ treats viral infection of the eye caused by Cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis. CIDNAVIR 75MG/ML INJ consists of Cidofovir, which works by inhibiting the CMV polymerase enzyme responsible for viral DNA synthesis. It helps kill the virus and eventually stop the growth of the cytomegalovirus. Thus, helps to treat Cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis. This medicine is only used in treating CMV retinitis but is not used for other conditions. It does not help in treating HIV infection.

Avoid driving and operating machines, as it can cause fatigue and dizziness.

Drug-Drug Interactions: CIDNAVIR 75MG/ML INJ may interact with antiviral drugs (Zidovudine, adefovir, tenofovir), anti-gout medicines (Probenecid), nephrotoxic drugs (foscarnet, amikacin, amphotericin B, vancomycin, gentamycin, tobramycin, pentamidine, ibuprofen, naproxen), etc.
