Checal-D Tablet is used to treat low blood calcium levels. It effectively treats various conditions caused by low calcium levels in the body, such as osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones), osteomalacia/rickets (weak bones), hypoparathyroidism (low levels of parathyroid hormone), and latent tetany (a muscle disease with low blood calcium levels). It can also be given to pregnant, nursing, and postmenopausal women to ensure that they are getting enough calcium. Additionally, it is used to treat hyperparathyroidism (overactive parathyroid glands) and metabolic bone disease in people with chronic kidney disease, surgery, or other conditions. It contains Calcium orotate and Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3), which provides essential nutrients to maintain bone formation and maintenance. Also, it raises Vitamin D levels and thereby increases calcium levels in the blood. It may cause side effects such as constipation or stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, mood changes, weakness, tiredness, fast or pounding heartbeat, bone/muscle pain, and headache.

About Checal-D Tablet

Checal-D Tablet belongs to the class of 'dietary supplements primarily used to treat low blood calcium levels. Checal-D Tablet effectively treats various conditions caused by low calcium levels in the body, such as osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones), osteomalacia/rickets (weak bones), hypoparathyroidism (low levels of parathyroid hormone), and latent tetany (a muscle disease with low blood calcium levels). Checal-D Tablet can also be given to pregnant, nursing, and postmenopausal women to ensure that they are getting enough calcium. Additionally, Checal-D Tablet is used to treat hyperparathyroidism (overactive parathyroid glands) and metabolic bone disease in people with chronic kidney disease, surgery, or other conditions.

Checal-D Tablet consists of two medicines: Calcium orotate (mineral) and Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3). Calcium is a mineral that is used to prevent or treat a calcium deficiency. It provides essential nutrients to maintain bone formation and maintenance. Cholecalciferol, also known as Vitamin D3, treats calcium deficiency with hypoparathyroidism (the parathyroid gland's decreased activity) and metabolic bone diseases in people with chronic kidney failure. It raises Vitamin D levels and thereby increases calcium levels in the blood. This helps in improving the absorption rate of calcium from the intestine.

Checal-D Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Depending on your medical condition, you are advised to take Checal-D Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you. In some cases, Checal-D Tablet can cause side effects like constipation or stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, mood changes, weakness, tiredness, fast or pounding heartbeat, bone/muscle pain, and headache. Most of these side effects of Checal-D Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to Checal-D Tablet or its inactive components, please inform your doctor. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking Checal-D Tablet . Higher doses of Vitamin D than the recommended daily dose should be used in pregnant women only when advised by the doctor. Checal-D Tablet may pass into the breast milk; hence breastfeeding mothers need to seek medical advice before starting Checal-D Tablet . Please tell your doctor if you have hypercalcemia (high calcium levels), hypervitaminosis D (high vitamin D levels), and malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food). Brief your medical history if you have any heart/kidney/liver/blood vessel diseases, kidney stones, sarcoidosis (growth of inflammatory cells in different parts of the body), Crohn's disease (inflammatory bowel disease), Whipple's disease (bacterial infection affecting joints and digestive system), achlorhydria (little or no stomach acid), low levels of bile, and phosphate imbalance.

Uses of Checal-D Tablet

Treatment of Osteoporosis, Osteomalacia (Rickets), Calcium deficiency, Tetany, Hypoparathyroidism.

Directions for Use

Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it.

Medicinal Benefits

Checal-D Tablet is a combination of two drugs, namely; Calcium orotate (mineral), Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3), used to treat low blood calcium levels and various associated conditions caused by low calcium levels in the body, such as osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones), osteomalacia/rickets (weak bones), hypoparathyroidism (low levels of parathyroid hormone), and tetany (a muscle disease with low blood calcium levels). Calcium orotate is a mineral that prevents or treats calcium deficiency. It helps to maintain bone and teeth health. It is the only type of calcium penetrating the cell membrane and delivering maximum health benefits to cellular processes. Cholecalciferol, also known as Vitamin D3, treats calcium deficiency with hypoparathyroidism (the parathyroid gland's decreased activity) and metabolic bone diseases in people with chronic kidney failure.

If you are known to be allergic to Checal-D Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Checal-D Tablet is not recommended if you have hypercalcemia (high calcium levels), metastatic calcification (extra deposits of calcium in the body), hypervitaminosis D (high vitamin D levels), and malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food). Inform your doctor before taking Checal-D Tablet if you have any heart/kidney/liver/blood vessel diseases, kidney stones, sarcoidosis (growth of inflammatory cells in different parts of the body), Crohn's disease (inflammatory bowel disease), Whipple's disease (bacterial infection affecting joints and digestive system), achlorhydria (little or no stomach acid), low levels of bile, and phosphate imbalance. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, it is advised to inform your doctor before using Checal-D Tablet . Higher doses of Vitamin D than the recommended daily dose should be used in pregnant women only when advised by the doctor. Cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) in higher doses may harm the fetus. Checal-D Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Calcium orotate (mineral) and Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3). Cholecalciferol helps your body absorb Calcium Carbonate and supports the muscles needed to avoid falls. Calcium helps build and maintain bones. Collectively, Checal-D Tablet used to treat osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones), osteomalacia/rickets (weak bones), hypoparathyroidism (low levels of parathyroid hormone), and tetany (a muscle disease with low blood calcium levels).
Checal-D Tablet can cause kidney stones due to excess calcium deposition when used for a prolonged period. Please consult your doctor before taking Checal-D Tablet as a daily supplement if you have kidney problems or kidney stones history.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose, and follow your usual dosage.
Cholecalciferol in Checal-D Tablet can increase inorganic phosphate levels in serum; hence it should be cautiously used in patients undergoing dialysis to maintain adequate phosphorus levels and avoid ectopic calcification (calcium deposition). It is advised to follow a low phosphate diet to control serum phosphorus levels in dialysis patients.
Checal-D Tablet is used to increase low levels of calcium in the body. Hence it is not advised to use Checal-D Tablet during hypercalcemia since it causes an overdose of calcium leading to kidney stones and other effects.
