Uses of BUSELIN INJECTION 7ML

Treatment of Infertility, Endometriosis, and Prostate cancer

Medicinal Benefits

BUSELIN INJECTION 7ML belongs to a group of medicines called gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues indicated in the treatment of infertility and endometriosis in women. It is also indicated in the treatment of prostate cancer in men who have not had testicles removed by surgery. BUSELIN INJECTION 7ML contains Buserelin, a synthetic version of the hormone that naturally occurs in the body. It acts on the pituitary gland in the brain to stop the production of natural hormones that control the release of eggs from the ovaries. Other hormonal treatments are then used to stimulate ovulation artificially. Female hormones such as oestrogen may worsen problems like endometriosis. It helps relieve symptoms of endometriosis by reducing the production of female sex hormones by acting on the pituitary gland. In men, it prevents the pituitary gland from releasing luteinising hormone. This prevents the testicles from producing testosterone, which is required by the prostate gland to grow. By reducing testosterone, it shrinks and prevents the growth of prostate cancer.
