Brillo EZ Tablet is used to lower the levels of bad cholesterol called low-density lipoprotein (LDL), a type of fat in the blood. Brillo EZ Tablet is given when the other anti-hyperlipidemic medicines like statin (such as simvastatin, a commonly used medicine that treats high cholesterol), bempedoic acid and ezetimibe are not effective in treating your cholesterol (LDL) levels when taken individually. High cholesterol, known as hyperlipidemia or dyslipidemia, occurs when there is an excess of the unhealthy cholesterol balance in the blood.
Brillo EZ Tablet contains Bempedoic acid and Ezetimibe. Bempedoic acid decreases cholesterol production in the liver and increases the removal of LDL cholesterol from the blood. Ezetimibe works by reducing the cholesterol absorbed in the digestive tract.
Take Brillo EZ Tablet as prescribed. Your doctor will advise how often you take Brillo EZ Tablet based on your medical condition. Sometimes, Brillo EZ Tablet may cause common side effects such as headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, constipation, dry mouth, cough, back pain, unusual tiredness or weakness, nausea and pain in the shoulders, legs or arms. Most of these side effects of Brillo EZ Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Bempedoic acid, Ezetimibe, or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are a pregnant or nursing mother, avoid taking Brillo EZ Tablet . If you feel dizzy after taking Brillo EZ Tablet , avoid driving or operating machinery. Your doctor may recommend a blood test before you start taking Brillo EZ Tablet with a statin to check your liver function.
Brillo EZ Tablet belongs to the class of medicines called 'antihyperlipidemic drugs' or cholesterol-lowering agents. It consists of Bempedoic acid and Ezetimibe. Brillo EZ Tablet is used for adults with primary hypercholesterolaemia or mixed dyslipidaemia, which are conditions that cause a high cholesterol level in the blood. It is given in addition to a cholesterol-lowering diet. By reducing cholesterol levels, it lowers the risk of cardiovascular events like heart attack and stroke.
If you are allergic to Bempedoic acid, Ezetimibe, or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Before starting treatment with Brillo EZ Tablet , you should confirm you are not pregnant and are using effective contraception, as advised by your doctor. If you use contraceptive pills and suffer from an episode of vomiting or diarrhoea that lasts more than 2 days, you must use an alternative contraceptive method (e.g. condoms, diaphragm) for 7 days following resolution of symptoms. If you decide that you would like to become pregnant after you have started treatment with Brillo EZ Tablet , tell your doctor, as your treatment will need to be changed. Maintain a low-fat diet along with Brillo EZ Tablet for effective results.

Maintain a low-fat diet. Limit your intake of dairy products made with whole milk and red meat. Prefer skim milk and fat-free or low-fat dairy products. Eat a healthy diet that includes fish, poultry, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, cut-down beverages, and processed and sugary foods. Do regular exercises such as swimming, cycling, walking, or dancing and focus on losing weight, as obesity also raises bad cholesterol and lowers good cholesterol. Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
High cholesterol: It is also known as hyperlipidemia or dyslipidemia and occurs when there is an excess of the unhealthy cholesterol balance in the blood. When there is a high level of cholesterol in the blood, your arteries get narrowed and clogged, finally contributing to heart diseases like stroke and heart attack. Eating high-fat or high-cholesterol-containing food/drinks and genetic factors are the primary causes of high cholesterol. There are two types of cholesterol found in our body: good cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein) and bad cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein). Good cholesterol is good for our heart and helps reduce the bad cholesterol in our body. On the other hand, excess bad cholesterol (LDL) leads to the risk of heart diseases like heart attack and stroke.
