Ar Kid 5 mg Tablet is an anti-allergic medicine containing Montelukast and Levocetirizine. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist, which blocks a chemical messenger (leukotriene) and reduces inflammation and swelling in the nose. Levocetirizine works by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger called ‘histamine. This chemical messenger is naturally involved in allergic reactions. Together, this medicine helps to relieve discomfort and unpleasant symptoms, like blocked/runny/itchy nose, and red/watery eyes that occur due to allergic conditions.
Ar Kid 5 mg Tablet may cause certain side effects in your child, such as abdominal pain, headache, cold-like symptoms, or diarrhoea. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your paediatrician. Ar Kid 5 mg Tablet should be given as advised by your paediatrician. Do not give more than the prescribed dose of this medicine to the child. Ar Kid 5 mg Tablet can be given with or without food. Your paediatrician will decide the dose of the medicine depending on the type and severity of the infection.

Also, let your doctor know if your child has liver or kidney disease. This medicine is intended for paediatric use. Hence, avoid using it in pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and the adult population.
Drug-Drug Interactions: Ar Kid 5 mg Tablet has interactions with antibiotics (azithromycin, erythromycin), antacids (cimetidine), anti-fungal (ketoconazole), respiratory disease medicine (theophylline), and decongestant (pseudoephedrine), anti-viral or anti-HIV drugs (ritonavir).
