About Alfakit DS Tablet

Alfakit DS Tablet is used in the treatment of chronic kidney disease. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a long-term illness where the kidneys do not function properly. High blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, kidney infections, renal inflammation, recurring kidney stones, an enlarged prostate, and long-term, regular use of certain medicines are the common causes. 

Alfakit DS Tablet contains Alpha-Ketoanalogue, L-Histidine, L-Lysine, L-Threonine, L-Tryptophan and Tyrosine. Alfakit DS Tablet works by preventing the unnecessary increase in urea levels in the blood and improving the metabolism of proteins. Thereby, it enhances renal function. 

You are advised to take Alfakit DS Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. Certain common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and abdominal pain. Most of these side effects do not necessitate medical treatment and will subside with time. However, if you are experiencing these side effects regularly, you should consult your doctor.

Before taking this medicine, inform the doctor if you have any known pre-existing allergy to any of the contents of Alfakit DS Tablet or have had a severe allergic reaction following a previous dose of Alfakit DS Tablet . Avoid Alfakit DS Tablet in case of an inherited disorder of amino acid metabolism. Consult your doctor before taking Alfakit DS Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Directions for Use

Drug Warnings

Avoid Alfakit DS Tablet in case of an inherited disorder of amino acid metabolism. Inform the doctor of the patient’s detailed medical history including any clotting problems, any chronic disease, neurological disease, HIV, high blood ammonia, low blood volume (hypovolemia), electrolyte disturbances, metabolic errors, kidney disease, liver disease or any disorder causing difficulty in passing urine. Use Alfakit DS Tablet with caution with antibiotics and anti-cancer drugs. Consult your doctor before taking Alfakit DS Tablet during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interactions: Alfakit DS Tablet may interact with antibiotics (e.g. ciprofloxacin, tetracycline), an antineoplastic agent (e.g. estramustine).

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Alfakit DS Tablet as it might cause unpleasant side effects.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Please inform your doctor if you suffer from any chronic diseases or health conditions.
