Sinarest-PD Nasal Drop is used for temporary relief from nasal congestion (stuffy nose) caused by hay fever (allergic rhinitis), common colds, flu, sinusitis, or other allergic sinusitis in children. Nasal congestion, a stuffy nose, occurs when nasal passages become swollen with excess mucus and fluid.
Sinarest-PD Nasal Drop contains Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride, a nasal decongestant that works by contracting and narrowing the blood vessels in the linings of nasal passages. Thus, Sinarest-PD Nasal Drop provides relief from congestion and decreases mucus production.
Use Sinarest-PD Nasal Drop as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to use Sinarest-PD Nasal Drop for as long as your doctor has prescribed it based on your child's medical condition. The common side effects are irritation or dryness of the nasal mucosa (tissue lining the nasal cavity), local burning sensation, headache, and nausea. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or you notice any unusual symptoms developing in the child, inform your doctor immediately.
Inform your doctor about the complete medical history of your child. Do not use any other medications or supplements with Sinarest-PD Nasal Drop unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not exceed the stated recommended dose.
Sinarest-PD Nasal Drop contains Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride, a nasal decongestant that contracts and narrows the blood vessels in the linings of nasal passages. Thus, Sinarest-PD Nasal Drop clears the blocked nose and decreases mucus production.
If your child is allergic to any ingredient in Sinarest-PD Nasal Drop, inform your doctor. To rule out any unpleasant side effects or interactions, tell your doctor about your child's health condition and the ongoing medications. Do not give more than the stated recommended dose.
Drug-Drug Interactions: Sinarest-PD Nasal Drop may interact with antidepressants (e.g. imipramine, desipramine, amitriptyline), ergot alkaloids (e.g. ergonovine, dihydroergotamine, ergotamine) and MAO inhibitors (e.g. linezolid, selegiline, tranylcypromine).
Drug-Food Interactions: Sinarest-PD Nasal Drop may interact with caffeine. Therefore, avoid or limit caffeine consumption (chocolate, tea, coffee, colas and some herbal supplements), with Sinarest-PD Nasal Drop, as it may increase the risk of adverse effects such as sleep problems, rapid heartbeat, nervousness, nausea or tremor.
Drug-Disease Interactions: Sinarest-PD Nasal Drop may interact with disease conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism, enlarged prostate gland, narrow-angle glaucoma or heart disease.
Nasal congestion: Nasal congestion, or stuffy nose, occurs when nasal passages become swollen with excess mucus and fluid. Nasal congestion may be caused by hay fever, allergies, nasal polyps (non-cancerous growths), benign nasal passages tumours, environmental irritants, or a long-lasting sinus infection. Rinsing the inside of the nose with saline solution and using a humidifier at home may help relieve congestion. Consult a doctor if your child has severe nasal discharge, fever, sinus pain, or difficulty breathing.
